Statistical Analysis System abbreviated as SAS came into being at North Carolina State University as part of a project for the analysis of agricultural research. The demand for such software kept on building from then onwards, hence, the company came into being in 1976. The objective of the company was to facilitate customers coming from all sorts of industries and fields, ranging from pharmaceutical companies to banks, academic, and government organizations.
