Short excerpt:

Detailed understanding of all the tasks that sum up into a job is vital for any firm in health care industry. Job analysis is all about gathering all the necessary information related to a job (Solomon, 1997). Job-oriented(JOM) or work-oriented methods(WOM) are employed in job analysis, which differ based on their focus. While tasks involved in a job are central to the former, the latter concentrates on skill set requirements of employee, i.e., identifying key performance indicators. Functional job analysis, critical incident method and task analysis inventories are some of the JOMs. WOMs commonly used are position analysis questionnaire, cognitive task analysis etc, (Stahl, 2004). Combining both the methods facilitates matching job requirements with employee skills.
