A lean production system is one that incorporates the use of minimal resources in an effort to maximize budgets and also produce high-efficiency, top-quality product. Through management and assessment tools, a lean system is driven by streamlined efficiency changes in production and ordering of minimal materials to satisfy the demand cycle. A six sigma system is inter-linked with lean systems as it identifies opportunities to remove key flaws in production and identification of process improvements in key areas of manufacturing. This report identifies key aims and objectives of implementing a lean system with a six sigma focus.
