According to Don Schakne, absenteeism has evolved into the top most workplace problem in recent times (cited in Perry,1996,p.78).It is considered as non-attendance, when a worker is scheduled for certain task and he( or she) does not appear on work(Van der Merwe and Sylvia,1988,p.3).Vacation, study, or maternity leaves are not included in non-attendance.
