Due to human limitations, leaders cannot perform all managerial functions inside an organization. No leader can be a one-man army so obviously, tasks need to be distributed among members whom the leader thinks are capable of carrying out the tasks and responsibilities given. Performed correctly, a high exchange relationship facilitates the development of mutual dependence, loyalty, and support in an organization.
