Designing a plan for collaboration

In 2010, Reno maintained a population of 218,000 citizens (reno.gov, 2011). The median household income level, taking into consideration inflation, was estimated at 42,214 (reno.gov), higher than the national income average. Sixty five percent of citizens are employed in trade and service industries, with another 25 percent employed in construction, transportation, finance, manufacturing and public utilities (reno.gov, 2009). This suggests a household demographic fitting the middle class profile as approximately 90 percent of the population maintains blue collar or lower-income retail positions. This demographic data is vital to the proposed collaborative plan as social status and lifestyle characteristics will impact the level of community involvement in the proposed collaborative
