Employers are allowed to terminate the services of their employers not only by reason of financial losses even when the business is profitable provided that the statutory requirements for closure or redundancy are complied with. Thus, an employer cannot be charged with unfair dismissal if the severance of work is anchored on closure of business or redundancy.
