Performance appraisal is done by the companys superiors to evaluate the employees performance on a regular basis. This assessment is done either monthly or yearly. The goal is to judge whether the employees performance is up to the mark and is meeting the organizational standards. The evaluation is made considering the quantity and quality of the performance along with the timeliness and dedication to the job. In case the performance is below standard, then either certain steps are taken like training and motivation to increase the level of performance or the employee is dismissed if the results are too poor.
